Blocked Meridians

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), meridians play a crucial role in maintaining health and balance.

Energy Flow and Meridians: Meridians are like energy highways, carrying neural impulses and electronic signals throughout the body. These pathways connect various organs, tissues, and systems, allowing communication between the brain, heart, and other body parts.

When meridians are blocked, energy flow becomes restricted, leading to disruptions in bodily functions.

Upper picture: shows that the stomach meridian has become blocked, resulting in stomach issues because energy cannot reach that area properly.

Lower picture: shows that a meridian passes neck is blocked, resulting in neck issues.

Causes of Blockages: External factors (such as injuries, internal factors (emotional stress, imbalances) can cause blockages.

Stagnation of QI (energy) or blood along a meridian segment can lead to tender points (alarm points) along that pathway. If left untreated, blocked meridians may result in physical ailments and eventually degeneration or chronic diseases.

Treatment:

Acupuncture: can release blockages and restore energy flow.

Herbal medicine: Certain herbs are used to balance energy and address meridian issues.

Lifestyle adjustments: Diet, exercise, and stress management play a role in maintaining meridian health.

Holistic View: TCM considers the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. By addressing meridian blockages, TCM aims to restore balance and promote overall well-being.
